The door from Milliways opens on a back alley off of Avenue C. Not the best place to be in New York City, but it could be one hell of a lot worse.

Mark leads Jack through the alley, and through a bit of the chaos of Alphabet City to stand in front of a building on the corner of eleventh and Avenue B. "Welcome to the Building, Jack." He's grinning.

"I'll grab you a map when we get upstairs. It's not really that hard to find your way around. The door we came through, as far as I know is a fairly solid door to the bar. I've never found it to be otherwise." Mark opens the front door to the building, and ushers Jack to the fifth floor. "There's five apartments here, and as far as I know they're all empty right now. The next floor up are four more, but they're, well, let's just say they're sorta occupied. Adam, the guy who runs most everything, lives up there, as well as Mimi sometimes, and Maureen sometimes. You'll meet everyone eventually." He grins, and waves idly at the apartments. "Pick whichever you'd like. I think all the keys are on the inside of the doors right now, and they've all got furniture. If there's something you'd like that's not in there, just let me know, I can either get it or find one."

He nods, his frown disappearing. Regardless the neighborhood it seems like he's gotten a good deal. It's almost like living in the bar: except he has more variety in the foods he eats. Which is a good and a bad thing. "We can have pets in here, right?"

Mark laughs. "Doesn't matter to me. Have whatever you want. It's your apartment now, Jack. Paint it, wallpaper it, put carpet in, for all I care." He grins. "Make yourself at home."

"Great. Well...guess, if I need anything I'll call you."

Mark grins. "Sounds good. I'm on the top floor, with my roommate Roger, his girlfriend Mimi, and my girlfriend Maureen. Come up anytime. Welcome to New York in 1999, Jack."

"Thanks for bringing me," Jack replies, grinning, and turns to begin his search for an apartment (http://jackdriscoll.livejournal.com/10139.html).
